To identify employees with salaries in excess of $100,000 in 2003 in accordance with the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act. BACKGROUND 2. On January 30, 1996, the Ontario Government passed Bill 26, Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, C, 1996. In accordance with the Act, the Ottawa- Carleton District School Board is required to disclose both salary and taxable benefits paid to employees who are paid a salary of $100,000 or more annually. Included in the disclosure is a requirement to identify the amount of taxable benefits reported to Revenue Canada by the Board on behalf of the employees. 3. Section 3 of the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 requires that the disclosure be made available in the employer's offices no later than March 31, 2003. The deadline for submitting the disclosure to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Finance was March 17, 2004. 4. The purpose of the disclosure is to provide a record, which will be made available to the public for inspection without charge at a suitable location on the Employer's premises throughout the period, March 31 to December 31 of each year. The record will be maintained in the Public Reading Room. 5. Attached as Appendix A is the information compiled under the Act for the calendar year ending December 31, 2003.
