RE: Capital Reserves
Trustee Graham has given notice that she will move as follows at the 22 March
2000 Committee of the Whole (Budget) meeting.
Whereas the OCDSB has many ageing plants that do not meet modem building codes;
Whereas it is essential that the OCDSB renovate and upgrade its facilities;
Whereas deteriorating facilities will cost the board more in the long nun;
Whereas a Facilities Master Plan is being developed;
Whereas the OCDSB now has approximately $14. million (Tab 1, page 3) in Education
Development Charges for new school construction;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the reserves of $2.6 million remain in the capital
reserves and be used for renovations and upgrades to schools across the jurisdiction
