Reconsideration of Board Decision, French Immersion Program at Rideau H.S.
Trustee Chambers has given notice that he will move reconsideration of the motion
that was approved at the 10 January 2000 Board meeting regarding the establishment of a
French Immersion program at Rideau H.S
The Board first votes on whether or not to reconsider the issue. Should that vote be
in the affirmative, the following motion moved by Trustee Bled, seconded by Trustee
Sheryl MacDonald, will be back on the floor for consideration:
THAT A French Immersion Program be added to Rideau High School beginning in
Grade 9 in 2000 -2001.
Trustee Chambers will then move THAT the Board postpone the establishment of a
French Immersion program at Rideau H.S. until such time as decisions are taken about
secondary school programming and closures.
