Trustee Chambers has given notice that he will move as follows at the 28 February
2000 Board meeting.
Whereas our school communities and the general Ottawa - Carleton public are not
yet fully aware of the forthcoming adverse effects• of the Provincial education funding
formula on OCDSB schools and programs over the next few years;
Whereas a fully informed public will assist the Board in making its several cases
to the Provincial government for funding which matches our students' needs;
Therefore be it resolved:
1. THAT the OCDSB undertake a program of public information designed to
communicate to the broader Ottawa - Carleton community the extent to which
education funding in Ottawa - Carleton public schools is being systematically
reduced by the provincial government, and the impacts such reductions have had
and are likely to have on OCDSB schools, programs, and students.

THAT support for this campaign be sought from all Board stakeholder groups.
THAT staff prepare a report on and budget for this initiative for discussion at the
COW public meeting on 6 March 2000.
