Staff has indicated that there would be a "slight incremental cost" if the Designated
Schools /Student Transfer policy were amended such students were eligible under the
Board's transportation distance entitlement.
This incremental cost would apply for Junior Kindergarten students attending schools on a
transfer due to their intent to attend those schools for EFI for Senior Kindergarten and
beyond. It would also apply for JK students whose JK- designated school was an EFI centre
and who were granted a transfer to their designated SK English site.

Trustee Graham has given notice that she will move as follows at the 22 March
2000 Committee of the Whole (Budget) meeting.
Whereas "staff is contemplating a change to the transfer policy that would extend
transportation to JK students attending schools under a transfer, due to their intent to attend
that school for EFr (Tab 5, page 8a);
Whereas staff has indicated that there would be a "slight, incremental cost" to implement
this change to the transfer policy (same reference);
Whereas parents require clarification of this matter as the earliest possible date;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the transfer policy be amended to extend
transportation to JK students attending schools under a transfer, due to their intent to attend
those schools for EFL
