To provide a schedule and program of events including orientation sessions for newly elected trustees following the 13 November 2000 municipal elections. BACKGROUND: 1. At a meeting on 12 October convened by the Director and attended by Joan Melancon, Maggie Melenhorst and Janice Sargent, a tentative outline of events and orientation topics was discussed and refined. STATUS: 2. The draft Plan of Action attached as Appendix A includes plans and timelines for a) an occasion.at the (W last Board meeting in November to thank trustees who will not be returning to the Board; b) the inaugural meeting of the Board; and c) a tentative schedule and topics for a series of four orientation sessions. 3. In order to obtain input from current Board members regarding this plan, the proposed schedule and topics for each session were circulated electronically on Friday, 20 October to all trustees, with a request for their comments /input by Wednesday, 25 October. 4. The Director's sub - committee will meet again to finalize the package to be sent out to all successful candidates the day after the elections. SUBMITTED FOR INFORMATION James P.
