RE: Provision of OC Transpo Bus Passes
Trustee Graham has given notice that she will move as follows at the Board meeting
on 25 May 1998:
Whereas students of the former Carleton Board, who are financially disadvantaged and meet
the distance entitlement criteria, are provided with transportation on OC Transpo for 10
months; and
Whereas students of the former Ottawa Board, who are financially disadvantaged and meet
the distance entitlement criteria, are provided with transportation on OC Transpo for only 8
months;
Therefore be it resolved:
(1) That all students, who are financially disadvantaged and meet the distance
entitlement criteria, are treated in an equitable manner through the harmonization of
the policies of the former Boards, and
(2 That $95,000 be reinstated in the transportation budget for the purpose of allowing
all these students to receive the OC Transpo provision for 10 months.
Trustee Graham will provide additional rationale for her motion at the meeting.
