Trustee Graham has given notice that she will move as follows at the 23 March 1998
meeting of the Board (Trustee Libbey will second the motion):
WHEREAS reports on guiding principles have been drawn up by the Joint Consultative
Group Sub - Committee, by the Ottawa - Carleton Assembly of School Councils, and by
Senior Staff;
WHEREAS Trustees have informally discussed values at the Trustee Planning Session;
WHEREAS the Board should adopt a set of values and guiding principles for use during
budget discussions;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT TRUSTEES AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM SENIOR STAFF AND GROUPS
WITH MEMBERSHIP ON STANDING COMMITTEES MEET AT THE EARLIEST
POSSIBLE DATE TO:
a) REVIEW THE WORK ON VALUES AND PRINCIPLES ALREADY
UNDERTAKEN BY THE JOINT CONSULTATIVE GROUP SUB-COMMITTEE,
THE OTTAWA - CARLETON ASSEMBLY OF SCHOOL COUNCILS, SENIOR
STAFF AND TRUSTEES, AND
b) MAKE FURTHER PROGRESS ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF VALUES AND
GUIDING PRINCIPLES TO BE ADOPTED BY THE BOARD.
