School Closure Studies and Community Consultative Approach"
Trustee Graham has given notice that she will move as follows at the 13 July Board meeting:
Whereas a planning session was held at Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School on April 14, 1998, to look at factors
to be considered for school closures;
Whereas representatives from a cross- section of stakeholder groups identified at that planning session a
number of categories of factors to be considered for school closures;
Whereas Report 98 -206 states that Community Working Groups are to be given guidelines by the end of August;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That Senior Staff, in consultation with OCASC representatives, refine the notes from the planning session and
present the factors for school closures in a format useful to the Community Working Groups; and
That this revised document be presented to Trustees for approval at a Board meeting before the end of August.
Trustee Graham will provide additional rationale for her motion at the meeting.
