MINUTES 25 June 1998
That a Trustee be appointed to fill the vacant OPSBA Directorship and that a Trustee be appointed to fill the Eastern
Regional Council delegate position.
Trustee Lam, seconded by Trustee Norm MacDonald, nominated Trustee Chambers to fill the vacant OPSBA
Director position. There being no other nominations or volunteers, on a motion by Trustee Graham, seconded by Trustee
Norm MacDonald, Trustee Chambers was confirmed as a Director of OPSBA.
Trustee Lam noted that there was also a vacant delegate's position and indicated that he could continue in that role
or another Trustee could be appointed. There being no urgency on this matter, on a motion by Trustee Chambers, seconded
by Trustee Lam, the selection of a Trustee delegate to the Eastern Regional Council of OPSBA Was deferred to the 13 July
Board meeting.
239. Program Reviews - French Immersion Points of Entry and Elementary and Secondary Program Delivery Models
The Board had before it Report No. 98 -247 outlining a process which will provide a focus for the review of research
on program delivery.
On the basis of the staff report, Trustee Chambers, seconded by Trustee Lam, moved as follows:
That the focus and process for French Immersion points of entry and elementary and secondary program delivery
models program reviews, be approved as outlined in Report No. 98 -247.
A motion by Trustee Norm MacDonald that the above motion be deferred to the 13 July Board meeting failed for
lack of a seconder.
Superintendent Stollery responded to a question of clarification regarding community representatives, noting that
.administration will work with OCASC to develop a selection process.
The motion carried.
