Independent Enrichment Learning Disabled Course (Spec. Ed.) Altemative / Trans. Ed. Autistic Course (Spec. Ed.) Junior Vocational Course (Spec. Ed.) Used by schools to identify internal scheduling purposes The seventh digit indicates the area of study. OBE Common Course Code Structure Appendix C Revised Feb. 15/93 COURSE CODES (Grades 10 - OAC) Each course in the secondary schools of the OBE is identified by a seven character code and title. The first 3 letters in the code indicate the subject (e.g. ENG2AE1 = English The fourth digit indicates the intermediate /senior grade level 2 = Grade 10; etc. 0 = OAC ENG2AE1 credit is granted in recognition of successful corn pletion of a course that has been scheduled for a minimum of 110 hours. Continuing Education Adult courses are scheduled for a minimum of 90 hours. Summer School make -up courses are sched- uled for a minimum of 55 hours. Prerequistes for courses are established at the school levels. Course outlines are available at local schools. Please contact the Principal should you require ad- ditional specific information about a course. All courses have been developed according to the re- quirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training. The fifth digit indicates the level of difficulty A,B,G,W,X,Y,Z (see pg. 22 in the Course Prospectus for detailed info.
