Re: New Course Codes and Course Descriptions for French
The 1993 -94 Course Information Booklet revision process has already
begun. I would like to bring to your attention the following changes to the
Immersion and Extended French Language Arts courses.
We have been advised by the Ministry of Education that, as of
September 1993, the FIW (French Writing) and FIL (French Literature)
course codes which we have been using will no longer be valid.
They will be replaced by the FIF and FIG codes which we have been
using for the OACs. This change of course codes will coincide with a change
the content of these courses. The implementation of the new courses will
begin in September 93.
The FEF and FEG course codes for Extended French remain valid.
However the course content and course description will be changing.
Find attached the new course codes and corresponding descriptions
which reflect the new direction advocated in the guidelines developed by
Lucille Dubuc during her educational leave in 1991 -92. Also provided are the
course descriptions for Grade 9 without course codes.
A copy of the new guidelines developed by is also
included . For further information, contact at 239 -5956.
