This leave is intended to provide leave for an employee to arrange for
alternate care for a qualifying family member at the onset of a serious
illness (including surgery or diagnosis). Following diagnosis, where
there is ample notice of appointments for an extended course of
treatment, an employee is entitled to take a total of 3 days for the
entire course of treatment.

insufficient days will be deducted lwop) with any vacation

Vacation leave must be approved in advance. 12 month eligible
employees must request permission to carry over vacation to the
following year.
