PAT Paternity
Leave
Up to 2 days per school year for the birth of a child. Where
complications associated with the birth arise, the father may
apply for leave in addition to the 2 days of Paternity Leave.
Beginning with day of admission and ending with day of discharge
from the hospital or to embrace the time of birth where it does not
occur in hospital.

sibling, mother or father-in-law, son or daughter-in-law, or a
person in a direct in loco parentis relationship or person with
whom the employee resides or resided

grandparent, brother or sister-in-law
1 day to attend the funeral of a close personal friend
In extenuating circumstances, additional lwop may be granted by
Principal (following consultation with Supt.).

Immediate
Family
Up to 3 days in the event of serious illness of a spouse, child
or parent to arrange for alternate care.
This leave is intended to provide up to 3 days leave for an employee
to arrange for alternate care for a qualifying family member at the
onset of a serious illness (including surgery or diagnosis). Following
diagnosis, where there is ample notice of appointments for an
extended course of treatment, an employee is entitled to take a total
of 3 days for the entire course of treatment.

Leave
Up to 3 days shall be granted in any school year by the
Principal for matters of urgent or essential personal business.
In extenuating circumstances, an additional 2 days leave
without pay may be granted by Principal (following
consultation with Supt.).
Urgent or Essential personal business includes leaves for medical,
personal, or legal reasons, including 1 day for moving personal
effects. Annual medical/dental appts. or routine appts. related to
pregnancy can be drawn from personal leave. Supt. HR may request
acceptable evidence verifying the need for the absence.
