Family
Friend
Up to 5 days – death of spouse, parent, child, grandchild,
sibling, mother or father-in-law, son or daughter-in-law, or a
person in a direct in loco parentis relationship or person with
whom the employee resides or resided
Up to 3 days - death of uncle, aunt, niece, nephew,
grandparent, brother or sister-in-law
1 day to attend the funeral of a close personal friend
In extenuating circumstances, additional lwop may be granted by
Principal (following consultation with Supt.).

ILIF Illness –
Family
Up to 3 days per work year in the event of serious illness of a
spouse, child, parent or sibling to arrange for alternate care.
This leave is intended to provide up to 3 days leave per year for an
employee to arrange for alternate care for a qualifying family member
at the onset of a serious illness (including surgery, diagnosis or
treatment).

In extenuating circumstances, additional leave w/o pay may
be granted by the Principal / Manager (following consultation
with the Supt.) when compassionate leave is exhausted.

10 & 10.5 month employees must reserve vacation days to be
taken at Christmas/March break and those with insufficient
days will be deducted lwop. Any vacation balances paid out in
June.

notification to respective Superintendent
The responsibility for determining reasonable efforts rests with
Supervisor. Reference PR.563.HR.
