person in a direct loco parentis relationship or person with
whom the employee resides or resided
1 day to attend the funeral of a close personal friend
In extenuating circumstances, additional lwop may be granted by
Principal (following consultation with Supt.).

Family
Up to 3 days in the event of serious illness of a spouse, child
or parent to arrange for alternate care.
This leave is intended to provide up to 3 days leave for an employee
to arrange for alternate care for a qualifying family member at the
onset of a serious illness (including surgery or diagnosis). Following
diagnosis, where there is ample notice of appointments for an
extended course of treatment, an employee is entitled to take a total
of 3 days for the entire course of treatment.

when compassionate leave is exhausted.

V Vacation
Leave
Term employees who work for a full school year shall be
entitled to vacation in accordance with this article.
Employees must reserve vacation days to be taken at
Christmas/March break and those with insufficient days will
be deducted lwop. Any vacation balances paid out in June.
Vacation days must be approved in advance. No vacation carry over
permitted. Supervisors must receive approval from Supt. of HR to
grant lwop where Employee has vacation days. (some ECE’s in
Extended Day may volunteer to work holiday breaks)
