If all students follow an academic course, then either failures will increase or, more
likely, standards will be lowered. Wealthy students will drift to the private schools. It is
the bright students, from poor backgrounds, who suffer the most. They are forced into
schools that do not challenge their intellect. Enrichment programs only nibble at the
MOMMMMI, M-11111M.M=
Destreaming is social engineering that fails to provide better education. It also fails to
it social bridges. Social structure depends upon much more than where you sit in
class.
The answer is to provide a meaningful education for all students, not create an average
shoe that fits no one.
