The province is seeking opinions on the sex -ed curriculum as well as several other educational issues: Improving student performance in science, technology, engineering and math; Preparing students with job skills such as skilled trades and coding; Improving province -wide standardized testing; Ensuring students graduate with "important life skills" such as financial literacy; ADVERTISEMENT Building an "age-appropriate" Health and Physical Education curriculum .(http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curriculum/elementary/health.html) that includes subjects like mental health, sexual health education and the legalization of cannabis; Developing a Parents' Bill of Rights .(https://news.ontario.ca/opo/en/2018/08/ontarios-government-for-the-people- respecting=parents-by-holding-unprecedented-consultation-into-education- reform.html). Online submissions are also being accepted and there is an on-line survey. Consultations close Dec. 15. "This consultation is very important to the future of public education policy;" the board said in a newsletter.
