Important Information
October is Islamic Heritage Month in Ontario
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is recognizing Islamic Heritage Month in
its 143 schools. Islamic Heritage Month provides an opportunity for all citizens to learn about
the history, culture and contributions that Ontarians of Muslim heritage make in our
communities. It is a time to reflect, celebrate and learn about these contributions together.
The OCDSB is committed to promoting equity and inclusion in every one of our schools and
workplaces. We believe honouring and sharing the rich cultural diversity within our schools
help to dispel harmful biases and enlighten our understanding of each other. We encourage
OCDSB students, staff and their families to take part in celebrating Islamic Heritage Month
2018. Learn more.
