HomeMy WebLinkAboutSchool Council Update 2019/4/18 - # 30School Council Update #30 - April 18th, 2019
Happy Spring! We are moving towards the last two months of the school year which
is always a busy and exciting time.
Earlier this year, the school district undertook a large public consultation to get input
into the development of our next strategic plan. We have been busy reflecting on
the thoughts you shared and undertaking some research. In early May, we will
present a draft of our next strategic plan and invite the community to provide
feedback. Between early May and early June, interested school councils, parents,
guardians, staff and students will have a chance to see how we have pulled
together all of your input and created the priorities that will guide our work for the
next four years. Watch for more detailed information in the weeks ahead.

School Climate Survey 2019 for Students - April 23rd to May 10th, 2019
The OCDSB is committed to creating inclusive, safe and caring environments. As part of this
commitment, along with direction from the Ministry, our schools administer school climate
surveys to students at least once every two years. The purpose of a school climate survey is
to better understand students’ perceptions about bullying, safety at school, and student
engagement.
Students who are in grades four to twelve will complete the OurSCHOOL Survey online at
school between April 23rd and May 10th, 2019. Parents can advise the school if they prefer
their child not to participate.
