Summary of main points for the issue/ concern:
- I seek to delegate as a former OCDSB student and current PYM Co-President delegating
and addressing concerns and backlash on behalf of Palestinian students with the board.
- As an individual who was in the OCDSB for my entire life, I have seen and experienced
APR on numerous different occasions and absolutely no change has been made towards
addressing these concerns.
- Palestinians feel constantly discriminated.
Recommendation(s) for resolution of issue:
- Having APR as an official definition established in OCDSB documents
- Responding to PYM’s 8 demands working towards change
- Establishing a Palestinian or pro-Palestinian equity position in the OCDSB
- Educating our educators about Palestine and Palestinian struggles to understand why
people are here to advocate for such issues
- Training in the definition of APR
